The very definition of "pointeless violence". A pretentious exercise in continuous swordplay, with a little sex thrown in. Because it is pretentious and self-aware, creates its own excuse for cheap filming locations (modern cities, abandoned buildings, and pseudo-historical Japanese settings), dress-up, a non-existant plot, and general silliness. Some scenes are "visually interesting", but only in the way student films are visually interesting. Occasionally funny, though more often that not inadvertantly so. Basically, a long excuse for dress-up, "avant garde" incongruities, and lot of stabbing, slashing, and fake blood. And the worst sin of all: it is often boring.
GRADE: D (3 out of 10: A bad movie. Skip it.)
