Internet Time

No Time Zones; No Geographical Borders

Internet Time is a new scheme which divides the 24 hour day into 1000 "beats", measured from midnight in Biel, Switzerland. Because the Internet Time doesn't change between timezones, the Internet Time is the same all over the world.

How long is a .beat? The virtual and real day is divided into 1000 ".beats". One .beat is the equivalent of 1 minute, 26.4 seconds. One hour equals 41.6666 beats. That means that 12 noon in the old time system is the equivalent of @500 Internet Time .beats.

The meridian for Internet Time is in Biel, Switzerland.
Biel MeanTime (BMT) is the universal reference for Internet Time. A day in Internet Time begins at midnight BMT (@000 .beats).

The date is presented in the following format: day.month.year
